I am as well an Asian American and I feel the way you feel. Asian Americans and Asians and African Americans and Hispanics should not be judged just for their skin. People wouldn’t be friends with me just because of my skin. They thought I was poor. When I grow up, I’ll show them what I’ve created. All skins should just enjoy each other. As a fellow Asian American, I feel what you feel.

Man, thank you for speaking out on this and using your platform to raise awareness! It's disheartening that it seems like we are moving backwards rather than going forwards. I can totally relate to the points you made about growing up in the States as an Asian American. Hoping for the best.

I remember once being at a zoo, I must've been about 16-17, and some white, beer-bellied asshole comes up to me because I had a camera (because taking photos at the zoo, hell, taking photos anywhere isn't exactly a uncommon thing), and he makes jabs at me correlating the fact I was asian and I was using a camera to try and spark an emotion out of me. I didn't lash out at the guy or anything, but one thing I did notice was the fact he was doing this in front of his son, who at a glance, must've been under the age of 10. The fact he was being raised as a young kid to watch this racism, and most likely be encouraged to behave that way too... I hope that kid grew up and gave his dad a good dose of truth. I'd be ashamed if my parents were racists and that I'd have to call them out for encouraging me to be one too.
